Process Flow for Automated Hydraulic Production Lines for Commemorative Coins, Medals, and Badges

An automated hydraulic production line for commemorative coins, medals, and badges essentially transforms the traditional "mold making stamping manual post-processing" model into a "continuous, precise, and intelligent integrated process." The core objective is to ensure product consistency and production efficiency through automation and intelligent control. The complete process flow of this production line can generally be divided into the following stages, as outlined below by the team at Jianlong Hydraulic Technology.

1. Stage One: Preliminary Preparation and Mold Making

This serves as the foundation for the entire production process and determines the precision of the final product.

1.1 Design and Mold Making: Designs are created digitally based on client artwork, and precision molds are manufactured using equipment such as CNC precision engraving machines. Mold precision is critical for high-relief designs or complex patterns.

1.2 Material Preparation: Raw materialssuch as copper, iron, gold, or silverare cut (via mechanical shearing or laser cutting) into blanks of specific shapes, such as discs, that meet required dimensions. Some high-end automated lines utilize laser cutting to achieve superior precision and higher material utilization rates.

2. Stage Two: Core FormingAutomated Hydraulic Stamping

This is the central phase of the production line, executed through the collaboration of hydraulic presses and automation systems; the entire process is highly automated.

2.1 Automatic Feeding and Positioning: Automated feeding systemssuch as vibratory bowl feeders and robotic armsprecisely place the blanks into the working mold ring of the hydraulic press. Positioning accuracy reaches ±0.1mm, ensuring the precision of the subsequent stamping step.

2.2 Precision Hydraulic Forming: This stage determines the clarity and three-dimensional quality of the pattern. Controlled by an intelligent PLC system, the hydraulic press applies hundreds of tons of force (typically ranging from 50 to 1,000 tons) to imprint the intricate mold patterns onto the blank. Advanced systems automatically adjust the pressure based on the material (e.g., gold or silver) to ensure consistency in weight, thickness, and pattern depth across every product.

2.3 Automatic Demolding and Collection: Once stamping is complete, a demolding mechanism ejects the product from the mold. It is then automatically collected by a robotic arm or conveyor belt and transferred to the next processing stageall without the need for manual intervention.

3. Stage 3: Post-processing and Surface Finishing

Stamped semi-finished products require a series of post-processing steps to become finished goods.

3.1 Surface Treatment: Includes polishing (to enhance luster), electroplating (gold, silver, nickel, etc., for rust prevention and decorative effects), and coloring processes such as imitation enamel, baking enamel, and epoxy coating.

3.2 Automated Inspection: Some advanced production lines integrate automated inspection systems to monitor critical parameterssuch as temperature and pressurein real-time, rejecting defective items and effectively reducing the defect rate.

4. Stage 4: Packaging and Final Output

Finally, inspected and approved finished products undergo automated counting and packaging before shipment. The entire production line utilizes centralized PLC control, enabling stable, uninterrupted 24-hour operation and increasing production efficiency by more than 3 to 5 times compared to traditional methods.

5. Key Process Highlights

5.1 Wide Range of Materials: The production line accommodates various materials, including common options like copper, iron, stainless steel, zinc alloy, and aluminum alloy, as well as precious metals like gold and silver.

5.2 hydraulic press Tonnage Selection: Equipment tonnage is selected based on product size, thickness, and design intricacy. Standard commemorative coins and badges typically use 100300 ton presses, whereas large-diameter, high-relief, or high-volume products may require equipment with a capacity of 500 tons or more.

5.3 Flexible Process Switching: By changing molds and adjusting programs, a single production line can rapidly switch between manufacturing different productssuch as commemorative coins, medals, and badgeseffectively meeting customization demands for diverse product types and small batch sizes.
